The Strategic End State is ‘to rally all sectors of Kenyan social, religious, and economic life to emphatically and continuously reject violent extremist ideologies and aims in order to shrink the pool of individuals that terrorist groups seek to radicalize and recruit’.
WHAT IS TERRORISM?
The unlawful use of violence or threat of use of violence, with intent to advance a political, religious, ideological or other such cause, with the aim of intimidating or causing fear amongst members of the public or a section of the public; or intimidating or compelling the Government or an organization to do, or refrain from any act
WHAT IS VIOLENT EXTREMISM?
Supporting, advancing or committing violent acts to achieve religious, social, political or economic goals
WHAT IS RADICALIZATION?
Introduction to an overtly ideological message and belief system that encourages movement from beliefs that are generally moderate and mainstream, towards very extreme views, which are violent in nature
