Terrorism Did not Stop for COVID19 | Citizen Support Mechanism

I have been to several places lately and even to many city buildings and surprisingly the tight security screenings are paid less attention and all focus shifted to ensuring hand sanitization, wearing a mask and taking temperature checks, thus everything around the foreign virus seems to have overtaken all other issues we used not to ignore. I must say that our security remains key hence vigilance on both the pandemic and our security must be upheld.

As the public lets always be cautious, handling any unfamiliar items such as abandoned luggage with suspicion and reporting immediately to the authorities.

For months now, top news in our media channels has been Corona Virus and this has spread panic far and wide in our nation. The dreadful virus exists however let us not forget our security threats since the enemy is still at work and strives to take advantage of this situation to perpetrate heinous attacks.

Over the last one week, our security personnel foiled three terror plots by the Al Shabab insurgents in the North-Eastern region proving the fact that the enemy isn’t asleep but working tirelessly to cease the COVID moment and perform all sorts of evil. Efforts to radicalize and recruit our youth to violent extremism by the insurgents have also been reported in the Western, Rift valley, and Nyanza regions clear indication that the enemy is not curtailed by the virus.

It is worth noting that the public has always played a crucial role in the security of our nation as it is through tip-offs from the citizens that have enabled the police to detect and thwart major terror plots. Being vigilant and embracing the anti-terror slogan ‘See something Say something’ is what will not only save us but also help to counter any attempts by the enemy to conduct atrocious acts to our country. As the public lets always be cautious, handling any unfamiliar items such as abandoned luggage with suspicion and reporting immediately to the authorities. Any stranger monitoring activities in a certain locality, observing a building’s entrance, exit routes, or CCTV installations must be treated with utter premonition and reported without hesitation to the relevant authorities.
